MANIFESTO
Reflecting on a long love affair with ‘electronic music’, what is obvious is an affinity for a sense of symmetry and mathematical precision, and the endless possibilities of form & space that such instrumentation offers.
The synthesizer is alien beauty, is still a tangible hands-on portal to human imagination. The art of the synthesist is the mystery of creation performed on a micro-scale.
Electronic music is like architecture in sound, I approach it from that point of view – it sits within an environment and helps to shape it, it has an effect on the psyche of those who experience it, and it couples a value of beauty together with a given function.
Music can inspire the mind, the heart, and the body, and reflect a greater sense of order and pattern; far beyond the small rant of the egotistical.
